Well I’ve finally had some time to breathe after an exciting and busy weekend and follow up week. Easter kind of caught us by surprise this year, with all the moving and building and re-launching, retuning, and learning how to be a building – we were just not in planning mode, more responding mode. But we did our best for Easter: door hangers, mass phone calls, invite cards, etc.
We ended up with about 770 people coming through the doors during the weekend. Some great time of meeting new families, seeing some yearly visitors, and just the joy and excitement that Easter brings.
The music was hot this weekend; Karl really had a great band up there. The set was:
– I am Free (Desperation Band); led by Karl
– Hosanna (Hillsong United); led by Christy
– Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone); led by Karl
– Lead me to the Cross (Hillsong United); led by Jen (my wife!)
I loved that we had 3 worship leaders leading 3 out of the 4 songs – amazing.
We also had a Drama: Redeemer (YYAM), which was cool – I never actually got to see the drama in it’s entirety, but everyone said it was very moving. It fit in nicely with the message, which was also very inspirational and moving. Everyone coming out of the doors was talking about what a moving experience they had – which hopefully moved them closer to Christ.
I spent the majority of my evening and day (Sat & Sun), putting some final touches on our youth room, greeting people, encouraging our teams, running from one end of our campus to the next & and I also led a couple worship songs for our youth: Everlasting God & Wonderful Cross.
Here’s a little slideshow of all the pictures from the weekend, enjoy:
All in all it was a great weekend. I’ve really enjoyed reading about some of your Easter weekends – here’s a couple of my favorites:
