I’m not gonna lie, I love Google. No, I LOVE Google. Google.com, Gmail, Google SMS, Google Analytics, iGoogle (well the new iGoogle Gmail sucks), Google Docs, Google Earth, Google Calendar, shall I continue?
If you’re a techno-geek you probably already know about the battle for whitespace for wireless devices that we all use like microphones, in-ears, lights, stage controls, etc. Honestly I don’t know a lot about it, but I do know that 2009 is just around the corner and we’re all at risk of having a bunch of expensive gear that might not work or be legal very soon.
So where does Google fit into this picture and why are they evil? Apparently they are one of the major player behind the movement to open up these frequencies so they can get wireless internet more accessible – which by the way, I’m all about, just not at the risk of rendering all our wireless gear useless.

Like I said, I don’t know (or really care to) a lot about the specifics. I’m not that worried – I can’t imagine the FCC making a decision that would effect so many around the country. But you never know these days…
