The winner of “So You Think You Can Dance” was announced (drumroll please…):
We just got around to watching our DVR’d version. One highlight of the show was a revisit of Pasha and Sarah’s West Coast Swing to the “Funk Soul Brother” remix, choreographed by last year’s winner, Benji Schwimmer. Another hot number as Niel and Sabra’s Jazz routine to Annie Lennox’s “Sweet Dreams”. Jen and I took notice that Sarah was in at least three of the “favorite” revisited dances – I guess that goes to show that she was pretty popular. For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, Sarah was/is a “B-girl”, a hip hop dancer, and if I remember correctly, has no formal dance training – and she kicked butt all the way to the August 2nd episode (the furthest of any street dancer).
While I’m not a huge dancing fan (although I did do some pretty hot moves at Jennifer’s Junior Prom), we really enjoyed watching this show together this season. The artistry and movement combined with the music and lights and the passion of the dancing was very moving. There’s something pretty powerful about creating a “moment”, even if it is on TV.
On a sour note, now there is really nothing worth watching on TV until fall previews. Here’s what we are looking forward to:
- Lost (I get goose bumps tying that)
- The Office
- American Idol
- Survivor: China (this is season 15!)
- My Name is Earl
- The Apprentice (this is one of Jen’s shows)
- Bionic Woman (I’m excited about this, but it could be a flop. I think they are marketing it well)
